Collectible Store is proud to present, Virgil Oliver "Fire" Trucks (April 26, 1917 March 23, 2013) was a starting pitcher and coach in Major League Baseball. From 1941 through 1958, Trucks played for the Detroit Tigers (19411943, 19451952, 1956), St. Louis Browns (1953), Chicago White Sox (19531955), Kansas City Athletics (1958) and New York Yankees (1958). He batted and threw right-handed. Trucks was a two-time All-Star and a two-time league leader in shutouts. In 1952, Trucks became the third major leaguer to throw two no-hitters in a season. The piece is a 8x10 placed in a 10x12 vertical solid black wooden frame with 1 inch in depth with glass. Tru Vue Conservation Grade 99% UV Protection glass was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and photo. A sports card is hand signed in blue ink by Virgil Trucks and is centered in a navy blue mat with orange borders on the frame. A golden name plate is centered on the bottom part of the mat with the engraving in black letters Virgil "Fire" Trucks 2-Time Baseball All-Star Detroit Tigers. The Certificate of Authentication (COA) from PAAS #MF14149 is enclosed in an envelope and attached to a white mat on the back of the frame. The frame includes a vertical frame holder attached to the back. The piece weighs 2 pounds.
