Collectible Store is proud to present, Vernon Gholston is an American football defensive end who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Ohio State and was drafted sixth overall by the New York Jets in the 2008 NFL Draft. He was expected to play outside linebacker in the Jets' 3-4 defense with the Jets citing his speed, strength and “long limbs,” believing they had found the perfect outside pass rusher for their defense. Gholston agreed to terms on a 5-year deal with the Jets on July 24, 2008. Gholston was released by New York on March 2, 2011 after three seasons with the team—a time in which he recorded no sacks. He has also been a member of the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams. The piece is a 9x12 vertical black marble finish wooden plaque with 1 inch in depth with acrylic. Clear acrylic was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and card. A 2.5x3.5 card is hand signed in blue ink by Vernon Gholston and is centered in a hunter green mat. A golden name plate is centered on the bottom part of the mat with the engraving in black letters “Vernon Gholston Jets Authentic Signature”. The Certificate of Authentication (COA) from Upper Deck is enclosed in an envelope and attached to the back of the plaque. The plaque includes a vertical plaque holder. The piece weighs 2 pounds.
