Collectible Store is proud to present Tommy John. Thomas Edward John Jr. is a former pitcher in Major League Baseball whose 288 career victories rank as the seventh highest total among left-handers in major league history. He is also known for the revolutionary surgery, now named after him, which was performed on a damaged ligament in his pitching arm. Well over half of John's career wins came after his surgery. John signed with the Cleveland Indians and made his major league debut at twenty years-old in 1963. Following two partial seasons with the Indians, John showed occasional excellence during seven respectable years as a starting pitcher with the Chicago White Sox. The piece is a 9x12 horizaontal cherry finish wooden plaque with 1 inch in depth with acrylic. Clear acrylic was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and photo. A 3x5 color sports card  is hand signed in blue ink by Tommy John pitching is centered in a royal blue mat around the photo.  A  golden name plate is centered on the side of the card of the mat with the engraving in black letters  “Tommy John New York Yankees Authentic Signature”.  A 3x5 sports card is hand signed in blue by Ralph Terry and is centered in a white mat.  A golden name plate is centered next to the card with the engraving in black  letters  “Ralph Terry New York Yankees Authentic Signature”.  Authenticated by Upper Deck and a copy of the back of the sports card is enclosed in an envelope and attached to the back of the plaque. The plaque includes a horizantal plaque holder. The piece weighs 2 pounds.
