After serving as an antebellum United States Congressman, he was the Speaker of the Confederate States House of Representatives during most of the American Civil War. The piece is a 11x14 placed in a 13x16 vertical black wooden frame with 1 inch in depth with Tru Vue Conservation Grade 99% UV Protection. Clear glasss was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and photo. A 5x7 black and white photo, and 1 1/2x4 cut card signature in black ink by Thomas Bocock , is centered in a black mat with white borders on the frame. A golden name plate is centered on the bottom part of the mat with the engraving in black letters “Tomas Bocock 19th Century Politician & Lawyer From Virginia During Most of The Civil War he Was a Speacker of the Confederate States of Representatives” The Certificate of Authentication (COA) is from JG Autographs is enclosed in an envelope and attached to a white mat on the back of the frame.
