Collectible Store is proud to present, Paul Warfield Tibbets, Jr. (February 23, 1915 – November 1, 2007) was a brigadier general in the United States Air Force, best known for being the pilot of the Enola Gay (named for his mother), the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb in the history of warfare. The bomb, code-named Little Boy, was dropped on the Japanese City of Hiroshima. The piece is a 14x14 placed in a 16x16 horizontal black wooden frame with 1 inch in depth with Tru Vue Conservation Grade 99% UV Protection. Clear glass was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and photo. An 8x10 color photo of Paul Tibbets is hand signed in silver ink and is centered in a blue mat with red borders on the frame. A golden name plate is centered on the bottom part of the mat with the engraving in black letters "Paul Tibbets Brigadier General in the United States Air Force Best Known for Being the Pilot of The Enola Gay, The First Aircraft to Drop an Atomic Bomb in the History of Warfare”. The Certificate of Authentication (COA) is from P.A.A.S #MF 13161 is enclosed in an envelope and attached to a white mat on the back of the frame. The frame includes a horizontal frame holder attached to the back. The piece weighs 4 pounds.
