He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fourth overall in the 1988 NFL Draft. He played college football at Wisconsin. Gruber spent his entire National Football League career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1988 to 1999. He never missed a snap in his first five years in the league. The piece is a 9x12 vertical cherry finish wooden plaque with 1 inch in depth with acrylic. Clear acrylic was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and card. A 2.5x3.5 sports card is hand signed in blue ink by Paul Gruber and is centered in a black mat. A golden name plate is centered on the bottom part of the mat with the engraving in black letters “Paul Gruber Buccuneers Authentic Signature”. The Certificate of Authentication (COA) from Professional Forensics Examiner Christopher L. Morales and hologram are enclosed in an envelope and attached to the back of the plaque.
