The Collectible Store Mickey Charles Mantle (October 20, 1931 – August 13, 1995), nicknamed "The Commerce Comet" or "The Mick", was an American professional baseball player. He was a Major League Baseball (MLB) centerfielder and first baseman for the New York Yankees for 18 seasons, from 1951 through 1968. Mantle is regarded by many to be the greatest switch hitter of all time, and one of the greatest players in baseball history. Mantle was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974  and was elected to the Major League Baseball All-Century Team in 1999.    The piece is a 9x12 vertical black marble finish wooden plaque with 1 inch in depth with acrylic. Clear acrylic was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and photo. A 4x6 color  photo of Mickey Mantle, hand signed in blue ink, beside the photo has a Yankees logo.  A black name plate is centered on the bottom part of the logo with the engraving in gold letters “ Mickey Mantle Hall of Fame 1974  “ The Certificate of Authentication (COA) from Professional Forensics Examiner Christopher L.
