He was a Major League Baseball (MLB) centerfielder and first baseman for the New York Yankees for 18 seasons, from 1951 through 1968. Mantle is regarded by many to be the greatest switch hitter of all time, and one of the greatest players in baseball history. Willie Howard Mays, Jr., nicknamed "The Say Hey Kid" is a retired American professional baseball player who spent the majority of his Major League Baseball (MLB) career as a center fielder with the New York and San Francisco Giants before finishing with the New York Mets. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979, his first year of eligibility. Mays won two MVP awards and shares the All-Star record of most All-Star Games played (24) with Hank Aaron & Stan Musial. The piece is a 12x15 vertical black marble finish wooden plaque with 1 inch in depth with acrylic. Clear acrylic was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and photo. An 8x10 black and white photo of Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle, hand signed in black and blue ink is placed on the top part of the plaque. A black name plate with the engraving in gold letters “Willie Mays & Mickey Mantle Baseballs All-Time Greats Hall of Fame- 1979 & 1974” is placed on the lower right corner of the plaque.
