Collectible Store is proud topresent, Jan Peerce (June 3, 1904 December 15, 1984) was an American operatic tenor. Peerce was an accomplished performer on the operatic and Broadway concert stages, in solo recitals, and as a recording artist. Peerce studied singing in New York City with Giuseppe Boghetti. In 1932 he was hired as a tenor soloist with the Radio City Music Hall company by the impresario Roxy, who renamed him John Pierce. They soon compromised on the spelling Jan Peerce, which the singer felt better reflected his ethnicity. Thanks to radio broadcasts and stage programs, Peerce soon had a nationwide following. The piece is a 12x20 placed in a 15x23 vertical cherry finish wooden frame with 1 inch in depth with glass. Glass was used on this fine piece to protect the autograph and photo. A 8x10 black and white photo is centered in a black mat with light gray borders on the frame. A cut card signature of Jan Peerce in black ink is placed below the photo. A golden name plate is centered on the bottom part of the mat with the engraving in black letters Jan Peerce American Operatic Tenor Accomplished Stage & Studio Performer. The Certificate of Authentication (COA) from JG Autographs is enclosed in an envelope and attached to the back of the frame. The frame includes a vertical frame holder attached to the back.
